In verse 25, Jesus points out that being anxious reveals wrong priorities. The temporal and physical matters of this life have taken precedent over the spiritual matters. The concerns, reiterated in verse 31, cover the areas of food, drink, and clothing. Jesus queries whether a person’s soul consists of more than mere physical things. In doing this He is not denying that physical things are important. Rather, He questions whether they should be given such prominence
